Inspector Heat Tracing
As a Heat Tracing Inspector, you will bring your technical expertise to life at a variety of industrial and maritime sites within our specialised department. You will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and optimising Heat Tracing systems, ensuring flawless operation for critical industrial processes.
You will work both independently and as part of a team, be service-oriented, troubleshoot faults, and advise clients on the best solutions. You’ll regularly report progress to the team leader and occasionally supervise a small team. Your work environment will vary, sometimes at heights, sometimes on the ground, and everything in between. Safety is always your top priority.

About the Team
You will work within a specialised Heat Tracing department, consisting of experts passionate about their field. Projects are highly varied, from industrial facilities to large infrastructure projects and maritime environments.
Your workweek may include:
- Commissioning ATEX-certified Heat Tracing systems on offshore platforms.
- Troubleshooting heating failures using infrared technology at a prominent museum’s entrance ramp.
- Conducting repairs on Heat Tracing systems at correctional facilities.
- Walking through major road tunnels to inspect the Heat Tracing of emergency fire suppression systems.
- Completing administration, system inspections, and project handovers from home at the end of the week.
Heat Tracing is often a small but vital part of industrial and infrastructure installations. Clients typically realise its critical importance only when systems fail — leading to frozen pipes, stalled pumps due to solidified products, or unsafe conditions on ramps and roadways. Your expertise ensures these systems function reliably and continuously.

While you are capable of working independently, you also value strong collaboration with colleagues and clients to achieve the best outcomes together.
Other requirements:
- Red Seal Electrician, Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Several years of experience in the industrial sector; knowledge of Heat Tracing systems is advantageous.
- In possession of a Wireman’s License or willing to obtain one.
- Familiarity with ATEX environments or willingness to achieve certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid Construction Health and Safety (CHS) certification or SACPCMP registration (or willingness to obtain).
